What is neurorehabilitation?

IFNR Saathi is an initiative of the Indian Federation of Neurorehabilitation (IFNR). Its purpose is to make reliable neurorehabilitation information more accessible to people living with neurological conditions, their families, caregivers and professionals across India.

To make trustworthy, plain-language neurorehabilitation information freely accessible to every person and family in India living with a neurological condition, and to equip healthcare professionals and communities to support them well.
Our vision
An India where no one navigates a neurological condition without a clear pathway forward, where reliable information, verified local support and a trained rehabilitation workforce are within reach regardless of geography or language.
Governance
- Content is developed and reviewed under IFNR's clinical oversight before publication.
- Every published item carries a named reviewer, a review date and a source.
- Country- and state-specific information (services, schemes, contacts) is verified before it is listed, and re-checked on a schedule.
- IFNR's governing body retains final editorial authority over all content published under the Saathi name.

A neurological condition can change much more than a diagnosis. It can change routines, relationships, work, education, mobility, finances, and the way a family plans everyday life.
Yet, for many families in India, finding reliable information in simple language and knowing where to turn for trustworthy, local support can be difficult.
Saathi, meaning companion, was created to help bridge that gap.
Saathi is not meant to be just another source of medical information. It is designed to walk alongside individuals and families as they navigate the practical, everyday realities of living with a neurological condition. Along with understanding the condition, we want to help you understand what you can do, what to expect, where you can seek help, and what resources may be available to you.
We believe that health information should be clear, credible, practical, and relevant to the people who use it.
That is why every Saathi carries a named clinical reviewer and supporting sources, in keeping with IFNR's commitment to responsible, transparent and clinically governed information.
We also know that healthcare information is constantly evolving. If you find something that is incorrect, outdated, unclear, or missing, please tell us. Your feedback helps us improve Saathi and make it more useful for the next family looking for answers.
Some Saathis are already live. More neurological conditions and more practical resources are being developed.
